Accounting Career Exploration Program

 
Wilkerson Guthmann is a team of 50 CPAs and business consultants with offices in Arden Hills, Saint Croix Valley and Wayzata. We are seeking high-performing students, majoring in accounting or business, and interested in pursuing a career in the accounting field.
 

 

What You Will Experience 

This two-day program will provide you the opportunity to witness the excitement, camaraderie and challenges of life at a local midsize CPA firm. As a participant, you will witness the distinctives of an accounting career in a midsize firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to hone your career objectives and become better acquainted with a CPA firm. You will meet and interact with new associates, managers, partners and clients of the firm. Individuals participating in this program will be considered for additional opportunities at Wilkerson Guthmann.

During this interactive, fast-paced two-day program, you will have an opportunity to:

  • Explore your career opportunities in public accounting.
  • Tour client facilities and interact with business owners regarding their challenges and successes.
  • Taste one accounting firm’s innovative culture.
  • Talk with young accountants about typical work responsibilities, career opportunities, and firm involvement.
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals on problem solving exercises in tax, audit and business consulting.
  • Explore industry trends and how they are changing the accounting field.
  • Contrast the career advantages and opportunities of local, regional, and international accounting firms.

 

Program Schedule

Program starts on Tuesday, May 22 and concludes on Wednesday, May 23 at our Arden Hills office.

Participation Requirements

  • Accounting major or focus in accounting.
  • Have an interest in working for a CPA firm after graduation.

Opportunities are limited; selection will be based on application, transcript and resume. Program applications will be reviewed as received and individuals will be contacted regarding program participation.
