Wilkerson Associates has a rich history of serving the Twin Cities as an excellent professional services firm. We have compiled some key dates and events relating a little of that history. We hope you enjoy this glimpse of whence we have come.

The 1920's

The story began.

1923 - Lyle W. Hines opened an accounting office in the Merchants National Bank Building (now First National Bank) in St. Paul, Minnesota.

1924 - Lyle Hines passed the CPA exam but had to sue the Board of Accountancy to gain the certificate.

1927 - The firm performed the only audit of the State of Minnesota ever performed by an independent accountant.

1928 - Hartwell Winfield Wilkerson, Jr. graduated from the U of M and began working for Mr. Hines.
